SARSAS Supporter Celebration: an evening of courage, healing & hope
On Thursday 9 October, the SARSAS community came together at Hamilton House in Bristol, to celebrate, give thanks, and share our vision for the years ahead.
Our feet are only just returning to the ground after an amazing evening at our SARSAS Supporter Celebration.
It was a tribute to the resilience of survivors, the dedication of our volunteers, and the unwavering support of our community in standing up against sexual violence.

From heartfelt speeches, to moving poetry, the night reminded us all why this work matters – and how much stronger we are when we come together.
The evening began with a warm welcome from Rachel Notley, Chair of Trustees, who spoke about the power of community in breaking silence and building safety.

Guests then heard from Clare Moody, Avon & Somerset Police and Crime Commissioner, who celebrated SARSAS’s unwavering dedication to survivors, and re-asserted the regional commitment to supporting survivors, and ensuring perpetrators of sexual violence are brought to justice.

Throughout the night, guests then heard from Lorri Weaving, SARSAS CEO, and Ruth Arnold, Head of Services, who shared the amazing work of the SARSAS team, our impact over the last year, our new strategy and vision for the future, and of course, highlighted an Oscars-worthy list of thank yous.

The essence of the evening was best captured by the premiere of SARSAS’ new short film, ‘We Hear You’, which was then followed by a truly moving panel of survivors hosted by Lisa Durston, Communications Manager.
The five survivors spoke so honestly about their experiences with SARSAS, sharing the authentic selves they’ve been able to become when they were listened to, believed, and supported.

To close off the night, Jenny Benson, Corporate Partnerships Lead, talked about fundraising – touching on the week-long match funding appeal with the Big Give, and sharing opportunities to get involved with events and community fundraising.

The atmosphere was filled with empathy, connection, and purpose – a collective commitment to a world free from sexual violence.
We left the evening inspired and more committed than ever to standing alongside survivors and the community that supports them.

We are deeply grateful to our sponsors, volunteers, and every guest who made this event possible. Special thanks go to:

Celebrating impact: our 2024 – 2025 report
We’re proud to share our Impact Report for 2024-2025; a reflection of the resilience, courage, and hope that defines SARSAS and the people we support.

Ending sexual violence without fueling hate
At SARSAS, we know that violence against women and girls (VAWG) is rooted in misogyny, inequality, power and control. It is not about immigration. That’s why we have joined over 100 women’s rights organisations in signing a joint letter with the End Violence Against Women Coalition (EVAW), against the weaponisation of VAWG.
