Stride for Survivors
Walk with purpose.
Walk for justice.
Walk to end sexual violence.
Join SARSAS for a marathon-length walk of solidarity and strength in Bristol this July.
Could you take on a marathon of a challenge this July?
Stride for Survivors is the new challenge event from SARSAS, where together we’ll be taking on a marathon-length walk of Bristol in the course of just one day. Every step taken honours the courage of survivors and fuels vital work to end sexual violence in our community. Together, we’ll walk 26.2 miles through Bristol’s most iconic routes.
Because when we walk together, we walk toward hope.

The difference your fundraising makes
We receive an average of 4 referrals for support every single day at SARSAS. This means 4 people each and every day are taking the brave step to ask for the support they need.
By taking part in Stride for Survivors, you’ll be ensuring that survivors who take that first brave step have the support they need – in whatever form is right for them. Whether it’s our helpline service providing a listening ear, our in-depth counselling sessions to help them begin processing their experiences, or our yoga groups offering space to practise self-care and nurture wellbeing – whatever the right support looks like for a survivor, you’ll be helping them start to heal from their trauma and rebuild their lives.
Frequently Asked Questions
Unfortunately not! We’re delivering this challenge with our event partner, Charity Challenge, and while they love our furry friends, they don’t allow dogs on their challenges. This is due to a number of factors, such as other participants being scared of dogs, not knowing the dog’s fitness or temperament, the routes or weather not always being suitable or safe for a dog, and the fact that many of our challenge locations also have wildlife and livestock.
If you have more questions on this, you can contact Charity Challenge on info@charitychallenge.com.
If you need to cancel your booking, please contact fundraising@sarsas.org.uk to let the charity know, and also contact Charity Challenge directly at info@charitychallenge.com, as they require any such changes to be confirmed in writing. Please put the name of your challenge and your name and booking ID in the subject line of the email. Under the terms and conditions, cancellations are only effective from the day they are received by Charity Challenge.
Cancellations incur the following charges, although additional fees may apply which Charity Challenge will advise you of:
• Cancellations made 36 days or more before departure (you will lose the registration Fee).
• 22-35 days before departure (you will lose 50% of total challenge cost).
• 21 or fewer days before departure (you will lose the total challenge cost).
Please contact Charity Challenge on the email address above if you have any further questions.
The challenge is primarily for over 18s. However, if a participant is or will be aged 14-17 at the time of the challenge, they are able to join. The Parent or guardian of the minor will need to complete the booking form for the under-18, as well as signing a parent/guardian consent form, and participate on the challenge too. The parent/guardian will need to stay with the minor for the duration of the challenge – this means that, if for example, the minor needs to drop out of the trek due to an injury, the parent/guardian will need to too, and vice versa.
If you need any further assistance, it’s best to contact Charity Challenge directly on info@charitychallenge.com.
Unfortunately not. The planned route uses several uneven, narrow and unpaved footpaths. Some of the route goes through fields (which can be muddy) and there are several steep, although short, ascents, some of which include steps. If you have further questions about the accessibility of the event, please get in touch with fundraising@sarsas.org.uk and we’ll be happy to chat.
