Non-Fatal Strangulation Training

Through this training, you’ll develop an understanding of non-fatal strangulation (also known as choking), including recognise the different types, the contexts in which it occurs, and how to respond to people who have experienced it.

Our non-fatal strangulation (NFS) training is especially valuable for safeguarding leads, support workers, healthcare professionals, counsellors, education staff, or anyone concerned about creating safe and inclusive spaces.

There is no safe way to strangle someone. However, NFS (also known as choking) is becoming increasingly normalised, with many people believing there is a ‘safe’ way to do it.

With growing awareness of NFS, we’ve developed a series of FREE 1-hour webinars, funded by Avon & Somerset Police & Crime Commissioner.
