We launched our new appeal to tie in with the with return of Broadchurch to our screens which featured a sexual assault investigation as its story line. We worked with the production team to make sure there was the right support in place for people who may be affected by Trish’s story.

As an organisation, we were really pleased to see the issue of sexual violence handled responsibly in a tv drama, helped out by the Broadchurch team’s consultation with Rape Crisis England and Wales and Dorset Rape Crisis.

The final episode of Broadchurch has now aired and Trish’s story has drawn to a close but the story for real-life survivors doesn’t end there. Healing from the impact of a sexual assault takes time and everyone’s experience is different.

We have seen a dramatic increase in referrals to our service over the last 2 years and funding has not kept pace with this. We need your help to continue to provide essential specialist support to anyone who needs it and to reach those who have not yet come forward.

So far we have raised nearly £3000. You can help us reach our next target of £10,000 by:

  • making a donation online
  • making a donation by texting ‘SARS45 £10? to 70070 to donate £10. You can change the amount to £1, £2, £5, £10 or any multiple of that. 100% of your donation will come to us. There will be a way to add gift aid by responding to your text
  • liking our Facebook page and following us on Twitter
  • sharing our Facebook and Twitter posts by tagging 4 of your friends and encouraging them to do the same.

Thank you for your support!
