People across the world have been sharing the #Me too status on their social media accounts if they have experienced harassment or sexual assault.

It is great to see people having the courage to shine a light on the scale of the problem of sexual violence and harassment.

People have been copying and pasting:

“If all the women who have been sexually harassed or assaulted wrote ‘Me too’ as a status, we might give people a sense of the magnitude of the problem,

Me too”

Some people might not know what sexual harassment and sexual assault are.

It’s important for people to know that it doesn’t matter who it was, when it happened or how it happened; it’s not ok that some did that to you and you deserve support.

Also some survivors of sexual violence may not be safe to disclose and that is ok. It’s important to make the choices that keep you safe and healthy.
