On Sunday 16 April, the awesome Artemis BJJ finished their Grapplethon, 24 hours of a Brazilian Jiu Jitsu, raising money for SARSAS. So far, donations have reached an amazing £5,418.84!

Our Director, Rowan, visited the Grapplethon in it’s early stages on Saturday and met with some of the ‘Grapplers’. Some of the SARSAS team even had a go at learning a “choke hold” on the second day. What a welcoming and inspiring bunch all those taking part were.

It’s fantastic when members of the community get involved with supporting local charities like ourselves, raising money and helping raise awareness. The people who took part in grappling at and supporting this event are true community heroes.

We would like to say an extra special thank you to Can Sönmez of Artemis BJJ for all his hard work in organising and promoting this event in aid of SARSAS.

Also, our gratitude goes to Seymour ‘Meerkatsu’ Yang for his amazing t-shirts, posters and photography. Paul and Tracey for all their hard work in promotion and providing and designing prizes. Mike Cowling, for his sparring blindfolded, and the team from London. Katja and the team from West Coast BJJ and finally, Martyn and his team from Essex.
